It will consist of a 50mm 3G monofilament carpet suitable for elite football and certified to FIFA Quality Pro accreditations.

The club is grateful to have had the full support of Huntingdonshire FA and Huntingdon District Council.

This self-funded project has been helped by a grant for new LED floodlights, pitch perimeter fencing and equipment from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund and support from Mick George Ltd.

A high-density performance shock pad, tested to FIFA Quality Pro, will be installed under the grass carpet; this will increase the life expectancy of the pitch ensuring it plays better and lasts longer.

The shock pad will also improve overall performance and reduce the risk of injuries.

Shock pads are also hugely important to meet various sporting code regulations.

The project will also see the installation of a new double beam mesh fencing with hot dip galvanised powder coating.

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday, 22nd March 2021 and is expected to take approximately ten weeks and should be ready for pre-season training.

This exciting scheme will contribute significantly to the development of sport and community activity in St Ives by facilitating a range of year-round activities unaffected by the weather.

The first-class playing surface will help to grow and develop grassroots football and improve the health and physical activity of residents in the town and surrounding villages.
