Local lad Matty Bateman has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the Tudors.

Bateman (pictured) came through the ranks with Kings Langley and had a short spell at Leighton Town before joining Berkhamsted in 2017.

Also previously with Leverstock Green, he netted 43 goals in 2018/19 for his dad Steve`s Berko side before stepping up a level to join Southern Premier Central club Royston Town in July 2019.

The 24-year-old enjoyed another fantastic season at Garden Walk, with 16 league goals in 30 games before lockdown, also helping the Crows reach the Quarter-Finals of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The Tudors also confirmed the signing of winger Jonathan Lacey for 2020/21.

The highly sought-after youngster has chosen to continue his development at Vauxhall Road, having been dual registered with the club in 2019/20 whilst also being on the books at Berkhamsted, for whom he made 37 appearances last season and scored 19 goals as they finished the season top of the table.

He was previously with Leverstock Green and also represented England C in 2018.
