Having
both started out within the club's successful development team, winning the
Lincolnshire League Supplementary Cup in the 2018/19 season, both sought out
pastures new at Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One side
Winterton Rangers for the 2019/20 season.
However,
it's noteworthy that both players made their Whites' first-team debuts during
Sam Wilkinson's first spell as manager; both meet the club's and manager's
ethos: young, local, ambitious and wanting to play for the club.
Starting
at Hykeham Town in the Lincolnshire League, some years ago, Chapman, a young
dynamic and energetic midfielder can play in a number of different roles,
whether that's box-to-box or in a slightly more advanced role - he poses
fantastic technical ability which allows the youngster to seamlessly glide past
players.
Foster,
on the other hand, a young, solid and technically competent defender.
Having
come through the ranks at the Whites, Foster's ability saw him make his first
team debut and then go on loan at his permanent club, last season, Winterton
Rangers.
The
ability to play in a two central defender pairing, within a three or as a left
back, Foster provides not only ability, but significant adaptability needed to
play within the Northern Premier League.
Wilkinson (pictured) told the club`s website: "More positive news for the club that both
Callums have agreed to come back. They both made their debuts under me and both
did very well, arguably unlucky to not play more of a part than they originally
did. They both moved to Winterton last season and played a huge part in their
successes and, ultimately, they've both played regular first-team football at a
good level and therefore developed as players.
"The
pair are very different, Fozzie, an all-action competitive centre half who is
very physical, good in the air and for his young age, has the right mentality
and strengths to do well at this level. Callum Chapman is a very talented lad,
comfortable technically and naturally very fit. He can get around the pitch, is
sharp and creative in the final third.
"It's
another two good additions and again, fitting in with what we want, local,
young, hungry players who want to develop and improve the club season by
season". |
