Chandler has been operating as Moors’ assistant manager since October 2022, but he has now signed a contract to become manager and will lead the club into the 2023/24 campaign. This comes with a number of changes to the footballing structure within the club, with first team coach Lewis Dickman promoted to assistant manager and Gavin Cogdon as academy manager, both in a full-time capacity. As well as supporting Chandler with first team matters, Dickman and Cogdon are tasked with extra responsibility for developing the wider footballing landscape at the club. This will incorporate the youth FC, the exciting new Elite Academy for 16 to 19-year-olds and the thriving Ladies team. Jason Ainsley will now return to his previous role as head of football and will continue to play a key role in representing the club at home and away games throughout 2023/24 along with Honorary President, Trevor Beaumont. Chairman Brad Groves told https://spennymoortownfc.co.uk: “I am absolutely delighted that Jamie has agreed to become our new manager. “Since stepping up to management in 2022/23, Jamie has proved himself to be an extremely talented and dedicated coach who has the respect of the players and supporters. “I am very encouraged by the ideas he has already implemented, and I am excited to support him and Lewis in constructing a squad which can build on the momentum with which we finished the past campaign. “Jason Ainsley’s National League North experience will also continue to be a key ingredient as we move forward, with Jamie and Lewis able to lean on that knowhow whenever they need it. “Whenever I have spoken to Jamie, his enthusiasm for the task that lies ahead is very evident and I feel confident that he is the right choice to help drive the club on as we look to meet our ambitions during 2023/24. “As a club, we are looking at every aspect of the structure to ensure Jamie and his management team have the perfect platform on which to drive the success we all crave”.
