Rather
unusually, two players have signed for the club from Northern Premier League
Premier Division side Gainsborough Trinity.
Tricky,
creative winger Toby Gould, 21, had been with Trinity since May 2021.
A
former Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Aldershot Town youngster, the exciting
wide player is highly rated.
Returning
to Hayes & Yeading from the Lincolnshire outfit is 22-year-old left or
right sided defender Joe Wilson.
He
came through the academy system at Championship side Reading before playing at
under-18 level for Aldershot, for whom he made his first team debut against
Team Solent in the Hampshire Senior Cup.
He
signed for Fleet Town in August 2018 and showed well during their Southern
League campaign prior to his original move to the SKYex in February 2019.
He
impressed during his short time with the club, playing a part in United winning
the Isthmian South Central title but couldn't commit the following season as he
moved north to study at the University of Nottingham.
He
initially combined studying with playing for Ilkeston Town, moving to
Gainsborough in May 2021, but he has now moved back south at the conclusion of
his studies and opted to return to the SKYEx.
Manager
Paul Hughes was delighted to pick up attacking midfielder Paul Hodges, who
helped Farnborough to win promotion last season.
The
29-year-old, who can play out wide or in an advanced midfield role just behind
the striker, signed for Boro in the summer of 2021.
He
joined Vanarama National League outfit Woking after a successful trial period
in the summer of 2018.
Local
to the Woking area, he is a self-confessed supporter of the club and was even a
ball boy in his youth, but after spending time with Reading as a teenager he
put his football career to one side to concentrate on becoming a teacher.
Close
to 10 years on he returned to his boyhood club following spells with Abbey
Rangers and Hartley Wintney, for whom he scored 30 goals in all competitions.
He
was released by Woking in February 2020 and was quickly snapped up by National
League South side Slough Town, although he returned to the Cards in March 2021.
Portuguese
winger Wilson Carvalho (pictured) has also been added to United’s group.
The
29-year-old joins following the sad demise of league rivals Walton Casuals.
He
had joined the Stags in November 2021 from rivals Hendon, where he had been
since July 2021.
He
had joined another defunct club, Macclesfield Town, in September 2020 but after
their sad demise, joined National League South outfit Hampton & Richmond
Borough a month later.
He
was born in Lisbon and began his career at Fulham before making the move to
Hertfordshire in order to continue his youth development at Stevenage.
He
then joined the Nike Academy and further to this, went on to sign his first pro
contract with Port Vale back in 2013.
Whilst
at Vale Park, he furthered his experience by completing loan moves at several
clubs - most notably at Corby Town, where he secured a permanent move in the
summer of 2014.
The
2014/15 campaign proved to be a memorable one for both the club and player as
Corby secured promotion from the Southern Premier with the wide man finding the
back of the net on 10 occasions in 42 league starts.
Further
to this, he moved down the A6 in order to join Kettering Town in November 2015.
The
pacey winger went on to make 63 appearances for the Poppies in a spell lasting
just under two-years, during which time he weighed in with 20 goals.
In
the summer of 2018, he signed for Stratford Town where he became a key player
in Town reaching the Southern Premier Division Central play-offs and League Cup
final.
During
the campaign, he made 52 appearances and scored 15 goals with his rich vein of
form attracting interest from several EFL clubs.
Ultimately,
he opted for a move to Lancashire in order to sign for League One side
Accrington Stanley and went on to make 13 appearances for Stanley, scoring his
first professional goal in the EFL Trophy clash against Fleetwood Town.
Carvalho
is joined at the SKYex by fellow Portuguese Bruno Tavares.
The
23-year-old joins from Southern Premier Division Central side Royston Town.
He
had joined the Crows in early December 2021 from National League South side
Hungerford Town.
He
had been with the Crusaders since August 2021 after scoring against them for
League Two Swindon Town whilst on trial at the County Ground in pre-season.
Happy
to play up top or on the wing, he is related to Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares.
He
spent the previous couple of interrupted seasons with Combined Counties League
side Enfield Borough, where he had a previous spell in 2017/18 when he notched
19 goals in 32 games before heading off to join Isthmian League South Central
outfit Chalfont St Peter.
He
was originally with Rayners Lane.
Another
excellent and experienced returnee is defender Dan Wishart.
The
30-year-old left sided defender or wing-back returns to United for a fourth
spell having ended last season on loan to National League South side Hemel
Hempstead from National League Wealdstone.
Wishart
was a product of the club's former F.E.D.O. youth scheme who went on to make
109 appearances for United before securing a transfer to then-Conference
Premier side Alfreton Town in August 2013, from whom he was then loaned back to
United for a couple of games.
Made
his original first team debut in October 2009 as a 17-year-old coming on as a
substitute against Staines Town in the Middlesex Senior Cup before making his
Conference Premier bow in February 2010 at Histon.
From
Alfreton he moved back to United for a short while before moving to Sutton
United in November 2014 where he was instrumental in their promotion to the
National League the following season.
After
an impressive start to the 2016/17 campaign, he was snapped up by Forest Green
Rovers.
He
returned to Sutton in the summer of 2018 and then joined Maidstone United in
November 2018 staying with them until the end of the first Covid curtailed
season 2019/20.
In
the summer of 2020, he joined Wealdstone and was subsequently loaned to Hemel
Hempstead in November 2021 before his release by the Stones in the summer,
whereby he returned to United.
Winger
Samuel Faniyan has also joined United.
The
21-year-old had joined Southern Division One Central side Hertford Town in the
summer of 2019.
However,
his time there was disrupted by the pandemic, and he then left to join Isthmian
South Central outfit Tooting & Mitcham United in January 2022.
He
had come through the ranks at Championship side Reading, making it to the
under-18s before being released.
After
his departure from Reading, he had a lengthy but sadly unsuccessful trial with
Premier League side West Ham United.
Luke
Brophy is a young, left sided defender who came through the PASE youth academy
at National League club Boreham Wood during which time he became an England
Colleges international.
He
joins United looking to push on in senior football, having also played for
Chalfont St Peter and was last season with Egham Town in the Combined Counties
League.
Meanwhile,
defender Cameron Black has come in on a short-term loan from National League
newcomers Dorking Wanderers, where he had come through the club’s academy. |
