Ryan Brooke, 30, joins Linnets having made the move across Tameside to join rivals Mossley AFC in May 2019 from Vanarama National League North neighbours Curzon Ashton.

The forward began his career with Oldham Athletic and in May 2009 was handed his league debut against Walsall in Oldham's final game of the season. In the 2011/12 season he had loan spells with Barrow and AFC Telford United.

He went on to make a total of 29 appearances for the Latics, scoring 2 goals before his release at the end of the season 2011/12 season.

He joined Altrincham in May 2012, scoring 6 goals in 22 appearances for the Robins.

He joined Curzon for the first time in 2013 and helped the club to the NPL First Division North title in his first season, before playing an integral part in the promotion campaign to the National League North.

In August 2016, after 121 appearances and 41 goals, he departed the Tameside Stadium for Nantwich Town.

He returned to Curzon for a second spell in November 2017 and made 37 appearances, mostly in midfield, but still managed 9 goals in 2018/19.

Alex Downes re-joins the Linnets from JD Cymru North side Colwyn Bay.

He had made the reverse journey in January 2021 having previously made around 50 appearances for the Seagulls as a centre back.

The 21-year-old started his career with Chester and enjoyed loan spells with Ramsbottom United and Colwyn Bay before joining the latter on a more permanent basis in the summer of 2019.

He moved to Runcorn in October 2020 after football in Wales had been halted due to the pandemic.

Young midfielder Louis Hayes, 20, joins from National League North side Chester, where he came through the academy and helped win the National League Alliance Division J title in 2018/19.

A physical central midfielder, he arrived at the Swansway Chester Stadium from Blackburn Rovers in May 2017.

He has had loan spells at Burscough, Bamber Bridge and the Linnets.

Rhain Hellawell (pictured)  is an exciting right winger who arrives from NPL Premier Division side Radcliffe.

He started his career at Stockport Town before moving to Chester in the summer of 2017. He then played for Chester’s under-17 and under-18 sides before graduating to the first-team squad in early 2018.

He made his senior debut against Altrincham in the Cheshire Cup, before making his league debut in April 2018 against Maidstone United.

During 2018/19 he spent three months on loan at Barnoldswick Town before joining Widnes on loan in November 2018, where he had been earning rave reviews.

A knee injury which needed an operation kept him side-lined for the remainder of season.

He joined Widnes from NPL Premier outfit FC United of Manchester in October 2019 having signed for FC United from Chester in May 2019.
